Posted by Lucy on July 25, 2012 at 7:46 pm Goodwill South Lake Union will have their Grand Opening tomorrow, July 26th at 10am. They are located at 411 Westlake Ave. N. Their hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. This site will also accept donations during their business hours.
Their Grand Opening celebration will feature prizes, giveaways, music, and Top Pot donuts for the first 250 in line.

J.C. Penney has plans to open a new department store in the Kress Building on the southwest corner of Third Avenue and Pike Street, not too far from the new Target store opening at 2nd and Pike next year.

The new Downtown Pro Shop opened today on Pike Street between 4th & 5th. The shop sells a variety of merchandise emblazoned with the logos of both the Seahawks and Sounders sports teams.

Why would we want to deface it with corporate signs and logos?” asked Jeffrey Ochsner, a University of Washington architecture professor who opposes a proposal to allow signs and logos on Downtown Seattle office buildings.
Well, it appears that at least one company has found a way to deface the Seattle Skyline without having to go through any City Council or Design Commission red tape at all.

When it comes to “big box” retail stores, Downtown Seattle has generally been lacking.
Whether this is good or bad is the subject of much debate, but for those who currently hop a Metro Bus to the Northgate Shopping Center every couple of weeks, your commute is about to get much shorter.
