SAM’s Mirror Art Project Pub Unveiling

SAM’s new public art piece Mirror, will be unveiled on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 5PM through 7:30PM. The unveiling will be held on First Avenue between Union and University, in front of Seattle Art Museum.

Space Needle NYE Fireworks

Watch the fireworks at the Space Needle on Monday, December 31, 2012, 11:30pm – Tuesday, January 1, 2013, 12:10am.

Event will include an “exclusion zone” under the Space Needle with temporary fencing. Working with SPD, Space Needle LLC will clear this zone of all pedestrians prior to the fireworks and then maintain the zone until the “all clear” SFMO. Pyro Spectacular will provide the fireworks.

Westlake Center - Assembling of Christmas Tree

When: Friday, November 23, 2012, 5pm – 6pm
Where: 400 Pine St on Westlake Center Plaza and Balcony

The 24th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration is November 23rd beginning at 5:00pm. Featuring a special guest appearance by Santa Claus and hosted by Joyce Taylor and Mark Wright from King 5.

20,000 spectators are expected to attend the Westlake Center Tree Lighting Celebration.

Dollar Day At The Space Needle

We’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of the closing day of the 1962 World’s Fair, with a special “Dollar Day” at the Space Needle, October 21.

Retro pricing will be in effect all day from 9:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Tickets, purchased the day of the event at the Space Needle, are limited to one per guest and are good for 2-hr time blocks throughout the day. Supplies are limited, and tickets are expected to sell out, so the public is urged to come early to secure admission.

We’ll be onsite at the base of the Space Needle until 6 pm with a number of activities:

• The first 2,000 ticket holders to visit the Bartell Drugs tent will receive a voucher for a free “Space Needle” themed shopping bag, redeemable at any Bartell Drugs location. The colorful bags spotlight artwork and photography submitted by winners of a region-wide contest and are on sale at Bartells.

• While supplies last, free Space Needle and Bartell Drugs balloons for visitors exiting the Space Needle.

• Our new partner EveryMove will share information about a newly-launched, innovative rewards program encouraging healthy living.

The Space Needle, an enduring symbol of Seattle’s skyline, and family-owned Bartell Drugs have collaborated on a variety of community-focused promotions and events throughout the 50th Anniversary year. Since the kick-off on April 21, the Space Needle’s Golden Anniversary has been filled with months of fun and exciting activities. This “Dollar Day” is a special benchmark in these year-long festivities.

The Seattle Great Wheel

Today is the Grand Opening of The Seattle Great Wheel. They are scheduled to open from 4:00pm (delayed to 5pm) – 1:00am for today’s opening, and will be open 11am – midnight, Monday through Friday and 11am through 1am on weekends.

Ticket prices will be $13.00 for adults (age 12+) and $8.50 for children (12 years and under).

Magic in the Market

Pike Place Market Christmas Lights

Magic in the Market at Pike Place Market will be held on November 26, 2011 from 1pm to 5pm. Enjoy an afternoon of festive music and a visit from Santa. Holiday lights adorning the Market’s buildings and trees will be turned on at 5pm.

Macy’s Holiday Parade and Fireworks

Macy's Star in Downtown Seattle

The annual Macy’s Holiday Parade is happening on November 25, 2011, from 9am to 10am, on Fourth & Fifth Avenues between Pine & University Streets. It will kick off the holiday season in downtown with the opening of Santaland followed by the Holiday Star Lighting Ceremony and Fireworks from 5pm to 7pm.

4th Avenue and Pine Street adjacent to Macy’s will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians during the fireworks display.

Westlake Center’s Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 4:45pm on November 25, 2011 with a special guest appearance from Santa. There will be daylong festivities and entertainment, including the Holiday Carousel.

Seattle Center Winterfest

The Seattle Center Winterfest will be held from November 25th through December 31st. This event includes a miniature Winter Train and Village, decorated trees, ice sculpting and performances, carolers, and the Winterfest Ice Rink. The Ice Rink will be in the Fisher Pavilion and opens on November 25, 2011 and ends on January 1, 2012.

Ice Rink Hours:

Sunday – Thursday, 11am – 8pm
Friday – Saturday, 11am – 10pm
Dec. 24 closes 4pm, Dec. 25 closed, Dec. 31 closes at 11:30pm

Admission: $7 for adults, $5 for children ages 6– 12, $2 children ages 5 and under. Admission fee includes skate rental. Cash only. Admission is free only to patrons wanting to watch and not ice skate.
